Deftones Cancel Glastonbury 2025 Performance Due to Illness
/Fans eagerly anticipating Deftones' return to Glastonbury Festival were met with disappointment today as the band announced the last-minute cancellation of their scheduled performance on the Other Stage. The alt-metal giants cited an "illness in the band" as the reason for their withdrawal, just hours before they were due to play.
The news broke via a statement posted on the band's official social media channels, expressing their regret and hope for a future return to Worthy Farm.
The full statement from Deftones reads:
"In an unfortunate development, an illness in the band is going to prevent us from playing Glastonbury tonight. We're devastated to be missing out on something we've been looking forward to for months, but sometimes circumstances out of our control interfere with things we want to do the most. We really hope to return to Glastonbury soon, and as it currently stands, we plan on seeing you tomorrow at Crystal Palace."
Glastonbury Festival quickly confirmed the cancellation and announced that British grime artist Skepta would step in as a last-minute replacement on the Other Stage. Skepta is now scheduled to perform at 9 PM, following an extended set from Ezra Collective.
While the cancellation is undoubtedly a blow for Deftones fans at the festival, the band's statement offers a glimmer of hope for their upcoming show at Crystal Palace tomorrow, June 29th. We wish the affected band member a swift recovery.
