Flobots

Denver, CO – Alternative hip-hop band Flobots release a new track, “Handle Your Bars,” in response to YouTuber Logan Paul’s song, “No Handebars,” which lifts its hook -- but not its message -- from Flobots’ platinum hit song “Handlebars.”

Lyrically, Logan Paul’s version of the song drastically diverges from a core value of Flobots’ - empowerment. With this in mind, Flobots felt compelled to respond – in song. “Handle Your Bars” is a searing track – smart and quick and bringing the conversation back to what matters. Jonny5 states, “To see our song used this way, especially against the backdrop of a national conversation about respect for women, we felt a duty to speak up.”

Flobots, who recently returned from the West Coast leg of their RISE + SHINE Tour, will play a special hometown New Year’s Eve show at Denver’s Marquis Theater on December 31st.  Tickets are on sale now at www.flobots.com.

in support of their recently released fourth album, NOENEMIES. The RISE + SHINE Tour is Flobots’ call to action, set to remind us that the division and negativity that currently dominate the national conversation is not in the spirit of human nature – that our true potential is much more positive and welcoming. Flobots’ RISE + SHINE Tour offers the opportunity to elevate above the rhetoric and come together for a night of music and connection. Flobots state, “The music on our album NOENEMIES is about our power to see each other more fully. We find that there’s nothing better for the soul than meeting people face to face. We cannot wait to hit the road.”

Flobots’ second leg of the RISE + SHINE Tour kicks off on January 9th, 2018 in Omaha, NE and brings the band’s politically charged live show to major cities such as Chicago, New York and Philadelphia before wrapping up on January 28th in Kansas City, MO. Special guests Tropidelic and McLovins support Flobots for select 2018 dates. The complete list of shows is included below, with tickets on sale now at www.flobots.com

Flobots’ recent album NOENEMIES (released May 2017) is, without question, Flobots’ most ambitious and sophisticated statement to date -  both lyrically and musically. Funded entirely by a Kickstarter campaign that garnered $31,000 over its goal, the music on NOENEMIES is undeniably Flobots music, but it’s also assuredly music made by artists who have matured and expanded their horizons. The release was highly-anticipated by fans and critics alike -- NOENEMIES shot up the Billboard Independent Album chart, where it debuted at #12.

Influenced by stories shared by the late Dr. Vincent Harding, a Southern Freedom Movement historian and professor and longtime band friend and mentor, and inspired by the band’s recent grassroots community work hosting workshops, classes and keynote speeches about using collective song to build social movements, NOENEMIES is a body of songs that speak to the urgency of the current moment.

Each of the tracks on NOENEMIES serves as a powerful, poignant new anthem, many packed with surprises both subtle and grand. Taken as a whole, the album is enormous in breadth, enveloping and electrically charged, befitting of the finely crafted, carefully chosen words. NOENEMIES virtually begs the listener to delve and to contemplate, to share and revel.

From the beginning, Flobots’ sound defied categorization. Weaving conscious hip-hop lyrics and classical viola solos over live instrumentation, their anthems captured attention from all directions. When Flobots first catapulted onto the global scene in 2008 with their platinum single ‘Handlebars’ from their first album release Fight With Tools, it was the fastest charting song debut by a new artist in 10 years. Released during the frenzy of that year’s election, the band’s call to envision “another America” resonated with a generation experiencing a sense of profound political and social awakening. In a span of months, Flobots went from playing at local clubs to selling out tours internationally, performing on late-night television, signing a major label record deal, and receiving constant rotation on alternative radio.

Now, a decade later and with three critically acclaimed albums under their belt, Flobots are still dedicated to creating and performing anthems for a better world. And in 2017, amidst a nation taking to the streets, for Flobots that means delivering a unique brand of protest songs. Enter NOENEMIES - bringing the songs back to the people.

Andrew W.K.

It’s safe to say, nobody has partied harder, longer or more fervently than the undisputed King of Partying himself, Andrew W.K.. A one-man music machine possessed of a single-minded, monomaniacal focus to spread a singular message: That to party is to exist. And to exist is to party.

Having revealed his new album 'You're Not Alone' is out on the 2nd March 2018, he is also touring the UK in April.

On You're Not Alone, Andrew W.K.’s first studio album of entirely new rock songs in nearly twelve years, the party is reborn, delivering everything one would want and expect of an Andrew W.K. record — high octane, full throttle rock ’n’ roll powered by buoyant, infectious, and triumphant melodies. His music, always a music of extremes, relentlessly upbeat and celebratory, now also explores nuance and contradiction.

These songs are a path to self-actualization. They are permission to admit vulnerabilities, and encouragement to feel empowered. They are reflections on freedom, hedonism and responsibility. It is a confirmation of everything you are, rejection of all you are not, and at times, a blurring of the difference between the two. Doubt becomes certainty, confusion becomes clarity, and the fear of life becomes the courage to live it completely. The album reveals itself through double meanings, mirrored outlooks ringing equally true, even at their most severely discordant.

Andrew W.K. has lived a life explaining that to reach a state of grace and acceptance, one must embrace both the shadow and the light, the pain and the joy, all that is known and unknown, the stability as well as the chaos of life, its speed and torpor. Understanding this, Andrew W.K. suggests, is at the foundation of what partying eventually reveals to us. And by harnessing the power of partying - and celebrating the puzzles and pressures of life - we find the key to change and evolution comes from both inside and out, when we're together and on our own.

That inner voice, the music of our consciousness, becomes our guide. Trust it. Follow it. Through good times and bad, ups and downs, highs and lows. Realize that just being able to hear it conveys something fundamental to your being:

You’re not alone.

Peggy Sue - Single 'Slow Fade'

London-via-Brighton based duo Peggy Sue have been releasing material for the past 11 years and this is the first single in 3 years! Check out the beautiful, jangly, indie-pop sounds here:

"Slow Fade" is the first single from Peggy Sue's upcoming fifth album, due 2018. After a three year break, during which Rosa Slade and Katy Young have been performing with all-female singing group Deep Throat Choir, '"Slow Fade" is an apt comeback; a melancholy celebration of patience.

The track is a dreamy, melodic breakup song; one that lets you hang around lazily in the days when you aren't ok yet. "Heartbreak takes ages" says Katy Young. "That's kind of the best and the worst thing about it. I was pretty heartbroken and trying all these tactics to make it finish faster; going out, staying in, talking about it, not talking about. But at some point I realised that when I was ok again, it would be because the love was done. And so Slow Fade is about letting it take its time - partly because you don't really have a choice and partly because a bit of me wanted to make that pretty sadness last as long as I could."

The new single - and forthcoming album - borrow in equal parts from the perfectly constructed pop songs of the 1960s and the understated, noisy guitar experiments of 90s indie bands such as The Breeders and Blur. The group's new material sees front-women Slade and Young joined by Dan Blackett (Landshapes) on drums and Benjamin Gregory (GRIP TIGHT) on bass, who bring a fresh energy and clarity to the band's enduringly captivating duel vocals.

NARCS - Raus! video

Leeds band NARCS, have shared their new video for 'Raus!', a single taken from their sophomore album 'A Thinking Animal', which was released via Clue Records, check it out here:

Speaking about the single, Joe Angus (guitarist) said, "Raus as a song was a long, drawn out process to make something coherent out of a whole host of churning, grinding grievances we had about the way things were for us, as individuals and as a country. The song was born at a time when I (Joe - Guitar) had stepped away from the band, for the sake of my mental wellbeing more than anything, and the other lads were jamming with Sam and Jack (formerly of leeds band Insatellites). The instant correlation between what goes on in Westminster and the everyday gnawing shittiness of the average working life. It's just a guttural outpouring of that sinking feeling post-General Election, set on top of this incessant industrial rhythm. We were listening to a lot of The Fall and Girl Band at the time, so we made absolutely no effort to make it fun or abide by any sort of received pop structure. It felt at times during recording that we maybe just indulged ourselves in our anger too much for others to really click with it, but as it turns out, it's probably the most popular song on the album. Which goes to show, I guess, just how utterly disenfranchised and aggrieved people are with life in the UK. "

‘Raus’ is a passionate yet desolate onslaught focused on voicing the bands tribulations with the increasing unrest across the UK in post-General Election Britain, average working life and the band members personal experiences as individuals. The track is a brooding statement, pushed on by sparse bass while the guitars scream as hard as the impassioned vocals. With verses that exchange caustic guitar feedback for trenchant lyrics and cacophonous instrumental sections that culminate in a volatile rhythmically driven end section, the track perfectly conveys the bands frustration and dejection at current state of the country’s political and social status.

Frank Turner

Frank Turner's retrospective album ‘Songbook’ is out today, along with a brand new recording of 'Long Live The Queen (Songbook Version)', made specially for the 'Songbook' album.

The track arrives alongside a live video shot at Frank's 2000th gig at Rock City last December. The live video is the first taster of Frank's 'Show 2000' concert film, which will be available as part of the 'Songbook' boxset release (also featuring his 'Get Better' documentary film & an exclusive photobook), available on December 15, alongside the vinyl release.

Slam Dunk Festival has announced the first six bands that will take to the stage for 2018. The festival is set to return for it’s biggest year to date as the legendary and anthemic Jimmy Eat World will take to the stage in their debut Slam Dunk Festival appearance. They will be joined by emo leaders Taking Back Sunday, party-starters Four Year Strong, post-hardcore heroes Sleeping With Sirens, pop-punk’s hottest property State Champs and fast-rising mob Trash Boat, all of which are poised to deliver the performance of the summer at next year’s unmissable pop-punk party. All six acts will be gracing the Slam Dunk Festival stages as UK festival exclusives.

Responsible for powering an entire cult movement with pioneering songwriting and unfaltering live performances, Jimmy Eat World’s beloved works ‘Bleed American’, ‘Futures’,  all the way to the most recent, ‘Integrity Blues’ are nothing short of expert masterpieces. The stalwarts continue to captivate audiences and inspire pop-punk rock acts of the modern era - influencing sounds across multiple genres and playing to thousands of fans through countless time-zones. Their riotous debut appearance will no doubt be full of euphoria and nostalgia at Slam Dunk Festival.

Joining the Arizona heavyweights, are the New Jersey kings of heartbreak, Taking Back Sunday, who will be bringing their highly-anticipated act to Slam Dunk Festival 2018. Their strike rate on hit records speak for themselves; alongside 2002’s ‘Cute Without The E (Cut From The Team)’, the likes of ‘Make Damn Sure’, ‘A Decade Under The Influence’ and ‘Make Damn Sure’ have not only helped them attain chart success here but also a vehemently loyal fanbase worldwide.

Floridian icons Sleeping With Sirens are set to return to UK shores with a remarkably coveted performance which is set to win the hearts of many next summer. Armed with a catalogue of undeniable rock tracks, packed full of soaring guitars and sublime vocal melodies, the troupe lead by charismatic vocalist Kellin Quinn are at the top of the game. Expect the classics and fan favourites from the first 4 albums, alongside mind blowing singles from recently released ‘Gossip’ album when they stun audiences at Slam Dunk Festival 2018.

Shaun Cooper of Taking Back Sunday said: "We are very excited to announce our return to the United Kingdom in May for Slam Dunk. We have had such a great time in years past we felt very fortunate to receive an offer we couldn't refuse.  We will be sharing a stage with the legendary Jimmy Eat World!  We can't wait to see you at the shows”

Kellin Quinn of Sleeping With Sirens said: "Can’t wait to get back and rock Slam Dunk Festival next year!”

Leading with anthemic singalongs and unrelenting breakdowns alike, Four Year Strong, State Champs and Trash Boat will be making their return to Slam Dunk Festival.

Renowned for their exhilarating live show, Four Year Strong will be bringing their extensively energetic back catalogue to the festival with acclaimed hit singles such as ‘Heroes Get Remembered, Legends Never Die’ and ‘Wasting Time (Eternal Summer)’ to stir a raucous Slam Dunk crowd.

Joining Four Year Strong in a journey from stateside straight to Slam Dunk Festival will be State Champs. Returning to the festival after their debut appearance in 2014, the band are poised to showcase the hottest tracks from the acclaimed Around The World And Back, as well as delivering energetic show-stopping crowd-pleasers like ‘Elevated’ and ‘Deadly Conversation’ for what promises to be one incredible set.

St Albans natives and Hopeless Records posterboys Trash Boat are also set to deliver a show stopping performance, packed with raw cathartic hooks and bouncing choruses as they return to the coveted Slam Dunk Festival stage.

Four Year Strong said: "We’ve loved the UK ever since our first trip over in 2007, nothing’s changed. Oh yeah, and Slam Dunk is fun too!"

State Champs’ Derek DiScanio said: "Slam Dunk was the first UK Festival we ever played on our first trip overseas in 2014. We've been eager to dunk again, and 2018 is our year. Everyone involved with this festival is top notch and I can't wait to make some new memories with everyone attending this time around. It's gonna be wild."

Trash Boat said: "SLAM DUNK! 2018 will be another year where we can say we are part of this awesome festival. The line-up is already stacked and there’s so much more on the way. Who knows, we may even have some new music coming out by then. See you there. TB x"

As well as announcing four prized pop-punk acts, Slam Dunk Festival is delighted to announce that Slam Dunk South will now take place at Hatfield Park, having outgrown its former home, the University of Hatfield. Over double the size of the previous location, Hatfield Park is located in the grounds of Hatfield House and situated directly opposite Hatfield train station, making it even more accessible and accommodating for festival goers wishing to revel in Slam Dunk Festival’s alternative extravaganza.

Festival Director, Ben Ray commented: ‘Slam Dunk Festival South has been taking place in Hatfield since 2010 so the town has truly become our home. Therefore, I am extremely happy we managed to find a new site still within the town. We are sad to leave the University however the event was selling out months in advance so we knew we had to move it and make it bigger due to demand from the fans.’

Slam Dunk Festival will begin in it’s spiritual home of Leeds, Millennium Square, before travelling to the new location of Hatfield Park, and finishing at the beloved Birmingham NEC.

Show Me The Body - K9

New York City trio Show Me The Body have just announced their new 7", Challenge Coin due for release on their Corpus label in November.

'K-9' is the A-side of Challenge Coin 7" which addresses the difference between community and fraternity. Side A is about the cultivation of community. Side B is about remaining free within the plague of masculinity and capitalism.

After participating in the Illegal Civ Cinema Tour w/ Denzel Curry, they are headed back on the road with King Krule in N. America.

Check out 'K9' here it's a slow starter, stick with it - it's worth a spin!:

Husky Loops

With their new EP, 'EP2' set for release this Friday (Oct 6th), Husky Loops share new single 'Fading Out'.

The band are also set to tour with Placebo this month, as well as playing shows with Superfood & Tigercub, which will then be followed by a full headline tour across the UK in November.

Singer Danio explains the thoughts behind the new song: "'Fading Out' is about leaving home. It’s open to interpretation, like most of our lyrics, but the song was inspired by both break ups and Mediterranean migrants. Musically it was really influenced by hip hop, I was listening to a lot of Pusha T and Jeru the Damaja and it’s all about rhythm”

Husky Loops are a band set on breaking the rules, bending genre boundaries and stepping boldly into the unknown. Their new EP strikes a perfect balance between the unhinged nature of their live shows and the meticulous detail that goes into every one of their studio recordings. It's messy but precise, fierce but mellow, it's open but intriguing.  Far-out apocalyptic arrangements collide with oddball pop structures as the group continues to define and accomplish their incredible musical vision.

Yeah Yeah Yeah's - Re-issue 'Fever To Tell' 15 Years On

YEAH YEAH YEAHS have announced details of a vinyl reissue of their seminal, ground-breaking debut, Fever To Tell, on October 20th through Interscope Records / UMe. The album will be available as a Limited Edition Deluxe Box, Standard LP, and Digital deluxe and standard re-mastered editions. Pre-Order for all editions from Sept 26th, with release on October 20th. “Shake It”, a previously unreleased track from the Fever To Tell era, is available as an instant grat now via all digital formats.

Speaking about the release, the New York trio said, “A friend of a friend kept asking if we were ever gonna put Fever To Tell out on vinyl as it hasn’t been on vinyl in 10 years. That’s not right. So here it is on vinyl for the first time in 10 years plus a time capsule of photos, demos (1st ever recorded,) a mini film documenting our near downfall and other fun memorabilia, from the turn of the century NYC, made with love + the usual blood, sweat + tears of Yeah Yeah Yeahs.”

One of the finest debut albums of recent times, Fever To Tell was released in 2003 and was influential in shaping the sound of the early aughts and beyond. Prior to its release, Karen O, Nick Zinner and Brian Chase had already established themselves as a ferocious live force; Fever To Tell introduced a band who could play thrilling and frenetic rock’n’roll one minute and captivating, hushed ballads the next. Its meld of scuzzy riffs, angular grooves and hypnotic hooks set a template that was often imitated over the next decade but the album’s rare chemistry isn’t easily replicated. It’s a snapshot of an era that sounds just as mesmerizing as it enters its 15th anniversary in 2018.

Tigercub - Into The Ashes

Check out Tigercub's latest single ‘Into The Ashes’ here, the track is the latest to be taken from their new EP Evolve or Die set for release on 29th September via Alcopop! Records:

The band have also just been revealed for the BBC Radio One Rock Show’s ROCKTOBER live session line up alongside Weezer, Rise Against, Frank Iero, The Xcerts, Counterfeit & Employed to Serve. Tigercub’s session will air on Sunday 15th October 2017.

Marking yet another stylistic fork in the road for the band, ‘Into The Ashes’ is crushing – cyclical drums and bass maintain the intensity, with the band using subtle rhythmical changes and developing the arrangement to keep things exciting, rather than fall back on the same old tricks.

“Lyrically 'Into the Ashes' is a series of vignettes on being born into a world that's already fucked and burned out,” commented front-man Jamie Hall “How jarring it is to have feelings and emotions with the knowledge that life is totally meaningless and chaotic, so in short it's fucking depressing. But at the moment that's something that really drives my lyrics...maybe I need a holiday!"

The band hit the road for a run of UK headline tour dates throughout October 2017:

16 Oct: Southampton – Joiners
17 Oct: Exeter – Cavern
18 Oct: Oxford - The Cellar

Shopping - New Single 'The Hype' & Tour Announcement

Shopping have just announced new single 'The Hype' which is out 17th November on Fatcat Records. Have a listen here:

Having spent the past few years touring the UK, EU and US, as well as splitting their time between other creative and musical projects, the post-punk trio return with the bold, spiky new single 'THE HYPE', the first taste of new music since their acclaimed 2015 album, Why Choose? released on FatCat Records.

'THE HYPE' is a song about thinking for yourself, taking matters into your own hands and not listening to other people or institutions that try to take advantage and tell you what to think or how to be. The band say of it, "It's a wake up call to action that says don't believe everything you hear, always question whats presented to you and don't just sit around and think about making change before it's too late."

Rachel Aggs (guitar/vocals) adds, "But it's also a party song! We liked offsetting the serious, dead-pan lyrics with the relaxed yet self-assured funk of the song itself, we had a lot of fun writing it - it has a guitar solo and everything! I always wanted to do a song with a drum and bass breakdown section where the guitar drops out too, I find that part so satisfying.”

The band have also announced a November tour:

Monday 6th November - GLASGOW - The Art School
Tuesday 7th November - LEEDS - Wharf Chambers
Wednesday 8th November - YORK - Crescent
Thursday 9th November -  CARDIFF - Gwdihw Cafe Bar
Friday 10th November - LONDON - Kamio

Metz New Video 'Cellophane'

METZ have delivered a new video for their debut single 'Cellophane'. As described by director Shayne Ehman, the visual depicts a sphere where “consciousness is split, and a world of contrast unfolds. The resulting disembodiment disperses one’s spatial awareness and new kinds of empathy develop. Two become three, and it’s only half the story” .

Taken from their third album 'Strange Peace' which is out tomorrow on Sub Pop, NPR Music’s Jason Heller said if the album; “Recorded with Shellac's mastermind Steve Albini, Strange Peace is an album that doesn't need to be explicitly political to make a statement about our current chaotic climate. The opening track, 'Mess of Wires', gallops out of the gate like a malfunctioning industrial robot, a tangle of mechanical riffs and Edkins' oddly infectious chants. The band's ability to inject melody into the weirdest of places is most striking on 'Cellophane'. Slightly more laidback than the usual METZ song, it's closer to a garage-rock anthem than a skin-peeling punk rager, and Edkins' refrain of "How will I know? / How will I know?" is designed to lodge itself in the brain of the listener like some insidious implant....cathartic rather than hopeless — an exorcism of nervous energy at a time when it's direly needed.”

Death From Above - 'Outrage! is Now' / 'Never Swim Alone'

Death From Above's new single 'Never Swim Alone' is out now check it out here, Sebastien Grainger and Jesse F. Keeler shot the video on a phone in a hotel room in London and it's the precursor to the new album 'Outrage! Is Now' which is out 8th September.

Earlier this year Seb's side-band American Lips released 'Kiss The Void' debut album, there was a DFA single 'Freeze Me' back in June which all led up to their highly anticipated 3rd studio album, the first since 2014. Exciting times!

Lyrics: "Babies in biker jackets, Laptops and dark sunglasses, Cocaine brunch, no reservation, Pull up with my ceiling missing, Valet park my hump machine, Backseat conceive, so unclean, Plug it in like USB, Eighteen years, f*ck being free, Can you hold these scrolls for me? Useless masters and degrees, Scroll down to go for a ride, Comment section suicide, There’s got to be another one coming, Another generation, Ready for the revolution, Or a change of station, Never Swim Alone ... Pray to American Idol, YouTube haircut so in style, Sodastream spray ricochet, In your face like: “It’s Ok!”, It’s my party, I’ll cry all day, So in touch with Rinpoche, Climb the mountain, password saved, Satan is my user name, Never Swim Alone"

ESTRONS - New Single 'Glasgow Kisses'

Estrons new single ‘Glasgow Kisses’ which is the first release from double a-side 'Glasgow Kisses/Cold Wash' and follow up to the awesome 'Strobe Lights' check it out here:

Meaning “strangers” in the Welsh language, Estrons’ approach to songwriting is inspired by feelings of estrangement, both to themselves  and the communities they come from. Showcasing singer Taliesyn Kallstrom’s ability to wash alienating and tumultuous experiences clean through her lyrics, she describes the track as “a nursery rhyme about adult life. A bittersweet study of the fear of commitment and how people protect themselves by hiding their emotions.”

After their recent tours alongside Honeyblood, The Amazons and Slaves, Estrons lare off on a headline tour this Autumn (full dates below), alongside sold out dates supporting Paul Draper. We saw them back in May and highly recommend checking them out live, check out our review from that show here:

METZ - New Single 'Drained Lake'

The new METZ track, 'Drained Lake', is a propulsive, jagged thing; heavy 21st century post-post-punk, with an infectious sea-sick synth line added for good measure. Strange Peace is their highly-anticipated third full-length album and is out September 22nd on Sub Pop.

'Drained Lake' reflects “The constant struggle to know yourself and make sense of your life and surroundings. What is my purpose? Holding on to who you are while fending off pressure to bend to what other people want and expect from you,” says METZ frontman Alex Edkins.

Since releasing their self-titled debut record in 2012 the Toronto-based 3-piece have garnered international acclaim as one of the most electrifying and forceful live acts, touring widely and extensively, playing hundreds of shows each year around the world.

Now, Alex Edkins (guitar, vocals), along with Hayden Menzies (drums), and Chris Slorach (bass) are set to unleash their highly-anticipated third full-length album, Strange Peace, an emphatic but artful hammer swing to the status quo.

Strange Peace was recorded in Chicago, live off the floor to tape with Steve Albini. The result is a distinct artistic maturation into new and alarming territory, frantically pushing past where the band has gone before, while capturing the notorious intensity of their live show.

“Recording in Chicago was a blast. We tracked fourteen songs in four days. It was the first time we felt confident enough to just play live and roll tape,” Edkins said of the recording process. “Strange Peace is much more diverse and varied than anything we’ve done before, which was exhilarating, but terrifying, too. We took the tapes home to Toronto feeling like we’d made the record we wanted to make.”

From the ferocious opening track, “Mess of Wires,” we’re met by the sheer force and fierce musicianship we’ve come to expect from METZ. With the unhinged, post-punk fragments of “Drained Lake,” and the whirling, acerbic pop features of "Cellophane," the band's hectic progression becomes clear. But Strange Peace isn’t merely a collection of eleven uninhibited and urgent songs. It’s also a kind of sonic venting, a truculent social commentary that bludgeons and provokes, excites and unsettles.

“The songs on Strange Peace are about uncertainty," Edkins explains. "They're about recognizing that we're not always in control of our own fate, and about admitting our mistakes and fears. They're about finding some semblance of peace within the chaos."

With all the pleasurable tension and anxiety of a fever dream, Strange Peace is equal parts challenging and accessible. It is this implausible balancing act, moving from one end of the musical spectrum to the other, that only a band of METZ’s power and capacity can maintain: discordant and melodic, powerful and controlled, meticulous and instinctive, subtle and complex, precise and reckless, wholehearted and merciless, brutal and optimistic, terrifying and fun.

Holy Fuck - Bird Brains EP

Toronto's Holy Fuck are set to release their new EP 'Bird Brains' on 21st July, check out the title track here:

Their bio describes them perfectly as "a hardcore thrift-store found-object punk band with a relentless commitment to rhythm and a sense for atmosphere better matched to a close encounter of the third kind than a simple rock concert".

From their eponymous debut their journey through the an extensive back-catalogue to the release of Congrats in 2016 after a hiatus, where they checked into a “proper” studio rather than the barn in rural Ontario where most of Holy Fuck’s records were made, their ad-hoc arsenal of low-budget hi-tech toys had been streamlined down and they really cemented their unapologetic intricate noise-laden sound.

Not since Girl Band's 'Paul' has there been an animal-headed based video along with a highly set-on-repeatable tune that has captivated us so much!

The EP will be out on Innovative Leisure Records and Last Gang Records, check out their UK / IRE tour dates below:
